Hailing from Canberra at the age of 23, Ally Hocking Howe is a rare species, a young emerging eclectic violinist and electronic producer. She composes and produces jazz/pop electronica hybrids that feature her violin, vocals and fellow acclaimed talent – both local and international – such as industry heavyweights Regina Carter (USA) , Scott Tixier (USA) and Andrea Keller (AUS).
Following the recent release of her debut EP The Feather Came First, and a Farewell Australia regional tour, Ally has moved her life to Texas (USA) to begin the next chapter of her career. In the live performance realm, Ally integrates her vast experience of professional classical and jazz gigging with her newfound passion of electronic pop production and music tech.
Ally started learning violin at 5 and – with the great love and encouragement of her two mums – grew and maintained a deep passion for music. Despite classical training, her musical taste evolved with her mums' love for pop and folk. She was proud to be recognised as the first female hi-tech specialist at Better Music. Eager to see more women in the industry, Ally aspires to continue such a strong trajectory from within the United States.
